BN505M micronized wax is processed from polyethylene wax. Its primary function is to improve surface properties, making it especially suitable for systems that require high abrasion resistance and scratch resistance.
Scratch and Abrasion Resistance: The wax particles migrate to the coating surface and form a protective layer, effectively reducing friction while improving coating hardness and scratch resistance.
Anti-blocking Performance: Prevents surface sticking in coil coatings or stacked printed materials.
Gloss Control: Provides a certain matting effect, although its main function is surface protection.
Improved Slip and Smoothness: Imparts a pleasant hand feel and excellent slip to coatings and printed surfaces.
Applicable Systems: Water-based, solvent-based, powder coatings, UV-curable systems, and gravure, flexographic, and offset printing inks.
2. Powder Coatings
Due to its high melting point and excellent lubricating properties, BN505M micronized wax is also widely used in powder coatings as:
Flow Aid: Improves the flowability of powder particles during conveying and spraying.
Degassing and Pinhole-Reducing Agent: Helps release gases generated within the coating during curing, reducing pinhole formation.
Surface Modifier: Enhances the surface properties of the final coating.
3. Recommended Dosage
0.3%–0.5%. Due to differences in formulations and processing conditions, the optimal addition level should be confirmed through laboratory testing.
